Clearing Through Customs for Everyone:

Please get these to kef office at least one week before estimated date of arrival of your shipment in Israel.Earlier is better. Shipments can arrive earlier than expected.

If your documents are not with us and complete one week before arrival of your shipment, this will delay the process accordingly.

If you have RIGHTS:

If you have not already cleared a tax free shipment, or if you need an extension (after army or travel outside of the country more than 6 months, or study as a full time student) you must sign in AT the LOCAL customs OFFICE,Sun - Thu 8:00 - 1:30. Bring both spouses passports,teudat zehut, teudat oleh (if you have one),and housing—rental or purchase--contract. Go even if you don’t have a housing contract.

IF YOU ARE A RETURNING RESIDENT

You first need to sign in the the Misrad ha Klita (absorbtion center), then with the Misrad Hapanim (Ministry of Interior), then with customs (see below).

IF YOU NEW IMMIGRANT OR RETURNING MINOR coming through NBN

You need only to go to your local customs office. Without NBN, you will need to first get your Teudat oleh from the Misrad Haklita (about 10 days), then a teudat zahoot from Ministry of the Interior (about 2 weeks), then go to your local customs office.

Then Email, mail, or bring TO KEFa clear digital scan OR COPY OF:

1st page offoreign passport (both spouses)
Teudat Zahoot (Both Spouses)
Israel visa page in foreign passport (both Spouses)
1st page of teudat oleh (or letter/stamp showing status of Toshav/Katin Hozer)
Page of teudat oleh (if you have one),with the stamp from the customs office (Meches)
1st page of Israeli passport (if any, both spouses)
first and last pages of a housing contract
invoices of anynew items not purchased for you by Kef Shipping information is often inaccurate. Shipments can be early or late. Please take care of this as early as possible

Customs Inspection

For a spot-check or when documents are not in order, Customs inspects all or part of a shipment. At the airport, almost every shipment is inspected. At the seaports, the odds are 1 in 15. Usually new immigrants’ shipments are inspected superficially—a few items are unpacked, checked against your lists, and repacked. Most people choose to pay the customs clearer to hire a crew to unload and reload.
