One time fees per total shipment: clearing, delivery, port fees, foreign and local documents, devanning, communications. ~$315-$550 + vat. Taxes without rights are 17% with certificate of origin, 17% without.

KITCHEN CENTERS

Kitchen centers are mixers with blender, grinder and other food processing attachments to the mixer motor. The advantage of a kitchen center is that it saves space, and depending upon how many of the attachments you use, it can be economical.

Oster, famous for its blenders, makes the least expensive kitchen center. It comes with two plastic bowls, a slicer-shredder, blender, meat/fish grinder, dough hook, slat beater, and wire beater. Options include an ice crusher, citrus juicer, vegetable juicer, can opener, and stainless steel bowls. Kenwood makes a sturdier, more expensive kitchen center that is also widely sold in Israel. It comes with the same attachments and options as Oster, with an additional option of a grinder. Other attachments: cream maker, wheat mill, coffee-grinder, potato-peeler, and colander and sieve.

Kitchen Aid—the baker’s choice—makes the most solid and powerful mixer-kitchen center, using a design, which has not changed in 40 years. Sold with stainless steel bowl, wire whisk, pastry beater, and dough hook, options include: grinder, spaghetti maker, vegetable strainer, slicer shredder, citrus juicer, and can opener. It is big—too big for some Israeli kitchen counters. The 4-˝ qt. model has the tilt back head; the 5 qt. model does not tilt back but slides up & down. The professional model K50 also has a tilt back.
